It’s a messy day to be taking the Lions Gate Bridge after a tree feel along the Stanley Park Causeway, closing Highway 99 in both directions.
DriveBC’s highway cameras show a completely empty Stanley Park causeway, with traffic backed up on one side of the Lions Gate Bridge with empty lanes on the other.
“Crews en route. Expect major delays due to congestion,” DriveBC said on social media.

Some users asked whether the tree was also blocking the pedestrian and cycling lanes, but neither VPD nor DriveBC have responded yet.
One driver who made it onto the Lions Gate Bridge shared video of the unusually empty lanes across Burrard Inlet because of the downed tree.
