Canada’s longest-running FREE Gingerbread Lane returns to Vancouver for the holidays

Gingerbread Lane, the sweetest street in Vancouver, is back for its 32nd year as the Hyatt Regency once again plays host to the popular festive tradition.

The magical holiday displays will take over the lobby of the Burrard Street hotel from Thursday, November 28 to Friday, December 27.

Previously recognized by The Guinness Book of World Records for housing the tallest gingerbread man, Gingerbread Lane welcomes more than 20,000 visitors annually. And this year promises to be another feast for the eyes (if not the stomach).

As per tradition over the past three decades, the free event features delightful gingerbread creations designed by secondary school students, amateur culinary artists, and professional bakers.

In addition to providing a welcome dose of holiday feels, the event also helps to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC and the Yukon, which is celebrating its 41st year of granting wishes to children living with critical illnesses.

“For years, Vancouverites and visitors to the city have delighted in the incredible display of gingerbread creations at this much-loved event,” said the Hyatt Regency online. “In addition to the sights, sounds, and smells of this cheerful time of year, we are proud to support Make-A-Wish Canada through Gingerbread Lane’s fundraising efforts — where every dollar raised goes towards creating wish experiences for children with critical illnesses.

“A wish is designed to complement a child’s medical treatment. For many children, it’s the start of feeling normal again; for others, it serves as a launching point into new treatments; for everyone, it’s the beginning of hope.”
