London Drugs phone lines back up, reopening date unclear

It appears London Drugs operations are slowly coming back online, though it remains unclear when stores in western Canada will reopen following a reported cyberattack over the weekend.

The company is entering potentially a fifth day of closures Thursday. However, in an update Wednesday night, the retailer said its phone lines were operational. They had been taken offline “as a necessary part of its internal investigation.”

Stores in the west have been closed as of Sunday morning. No specific details about the cybersecurity incident have been provided, though London Drugs says it is “working with leading third-party cybersecurity experts to bring our operations back online in a safe and secure manner.”

“Our investigation is currently assessing the extent to which any data has been compromised in the incident. In the event our investigation determines that personal information was impacted, we will notify affected individuals in accordance with privacy laws,” the company said Wednesday.

The company says pharmacists are on site to help people with their pharmaceutical needs.

“London Drugs’ Customer Care is also available at 1-888-991-2299. If needs are urgent, customers should visit their local store in person during regular business hours for immediate support,” the retailer added.

Canada Post office located inside London Drugs stores are fully open.
