Broken sewer main in Vancouver impacting traffic

The Metro Vancouver Regional District says its crews are in Vancouver working on a sewer main after it broke early Thursday morning.

About six to eight inches of effluent was pooling on Columbia Street near West 2nd Avenue in the city’s Olympic Village neighbourhood just before 6 a.m.

Metro Vancouver says traffic in the area will be impacted as it assesses the break and works to repair the main.

“Thank you for your patience as we resolve the issue,” it said.
