The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has assumed conduct of a case involving a 34-year-old BC woman who was reported missing over a month ago.
On November 18, the family of 34-year-old Chantelle Moore reported her missing to the Surrey RCMP. The family had not heard from Moore for an extended period of time.
“As a result of a robust investigation led by the Surrey RCMP and Langley RCMP, investigators determined that Ms. Moore was last seen at a hotel in Langley, and no one has heard from her since late October.”
What started as a missing person investigation has now been taken over by IHIT because of new information that suggests Moore’s disappearance was suspicious.
Sergeant Freda Fong with IHIT says that there are a lot of unanswered questions.
“Chantelle’s family and loved ones deserve to know what happened to her, and we will continue to work with Langley RCMP to advance this case.”
Posts about Moore have been making the rounds on social media since mid-November.
“Our extended family member is missing—Chantelle was reported missing last week, but we lost contact with her in mid-October,” said someone in the Langley City Crime Watch Facebook group.
The post said that Moore was about 90 pounds, 5’6″ tall, with blonde shoulder-length hair when she went missing.
Anyone with information about Moore’s disappearance is being asked to contact the IHIT Information Line by calling 1-877-551-IHIT or emailing [email protected].
