Or you can book these as an Open Jaw, where you fly from Vancouver to London and then Lisbon to Vancouver, for $463 CAD roundtrip.
Or you can book these as an Open Jaw, where you fly from Vancouver to Madrid (or Barcelona) and then Lisbon to Vancouver, for $577 CAD roundtrip.

How to find and book this deal
1. Start with one of the following Google Flights searches:

– Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view.
– Browse for the cheapest dates by adjusting the trip length at the bottom.
IMPORTANT: When you’re clicking through on Google Flights, and you get to the last page and see $860, *in some cases* you may need to keep scrolling down to the ‘Book with American’ button below. You should see $558 beside the button.
UPDATE: On Google Flights, I’m noticing that the price now jumps up into the $700s or $800s roundtrip after you select some dates or click through a few pages. But if you try the same dates on FlightHub in Step 2 below, they can sometimes still be booked for $561 roundtrip.
2. Go to FlightHub or Kayak or Skyscanner
– Try the same dates you found on Google Flights.
You can also turn these into a 2-in-1 trip and visit both London *and* Lisbon for $558 roundtrip

UPDATE: The flights have longer layovers (4-6 hours) but there are now some Vancouver to Lisbon flights in May and June for $686 roundtrip. The other Multi-City options involving London, Barcelona, and Madrid are also available in May and June for around $100-$130 more than they were previously.
UPDATE – Kiwi is showing a few of these Vancouver – Lisbon flights for $390 CAD roundtrip. I’m skeptical they can be ticketed for this price, since they are the only one showing this price. But I updated the Skyscanner link in Step 2 of the blog post that points to an example. Other dates that may work include: Jan 14, 20, 21, 22, 28 or Feb 4, 10 to Feb 3, 4, 11, 18, 25.
