A tulip festival near Vancouver is now open and you can take photos with 5 million blooms

Along with cherry blossoms, tulips are in full bloom in Vancouver and that means the return of one of B.C.’s most popular flower festivals.

You can now visit a massive tulip field on B.C.’s Lower Mainland that has over 5 million colourful blooms.

So if you love flowers and a great photo opportunity, this is the event for you!

The Abbotsford Tulip Festival, hosted by Lakeland Flowers, is back for another year with over 28 acres of tulips.

Visitors will see 100 varieties of tulips as they wander along the walking trails.

Another highlight includes specialty varietals imported from Holland.

“Every year we improve the visitor experience and this year we added more photo opps, tulips, and specialty varieties. From the end of May and on, our guests can expect to see more blooms right until early September,” Nick Warmerdam, farmer and owner of Lakeland Flowers, said in a press release.

This year visitors will get unique photo opportunities with baby grand pianos, canoes, giant Dutch wooden shoes, bicycles and swings.

The Lakeland Flowers website says the festival is the largest summer floral experience in Canada.

Along with tulips, the festival will feature other flowers during the spring and summer months.

The festival starts with tulips in April and May and will feature 32 acres of peonies and lavender in May and June. The festival ends with 40 acres of sunflowers in August.

You can either pack a picnic to bring with you to the festival or enjoy food from several food trucks on-site.

There will also be live music at the festival on certain days.

You can check out the food and entertainment line-up on the Lakeland Flowers website.

While there are no U-pick fields, visitors can buy a bouquet to take home.
