The Dancing on the Edge Festival (DOTE) returns for its 36th year from June 13 to June 22, and you can enter to win tickets to opening night! The festival will take place at various venues across the Lower Mainland including Firehall Arts Centre, Scotiabank Dance Centre and SFU’s Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, as well as an off-site presentation at select Vancouver parks.

The festival will feature over 30 performances over 10 days, where audiences will be witness to world premieres, Western Canadian debuts, and works-in-progress from some of the most sought-after contemporary Canadian choreographers.
This year’s Festival will once again deliver high caliber, exhilarating, innovative, and spell binding dance works showcasing the diversity of dance across Canada, reflecting its rich tapestry of cultural influences and contributing further to the evolution of this multifaceted art form.
Dancing on the Edge kicks off with the world premiere of Company 605’s latest work, lossy, co-presented with SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs; and features OURO Collective’s 7y98D; the world premiere of EDAM’s Dead Weighting; Kelly McInnes’ Late Stage Remedy; the Western Canadian premiere of Gorgeous Tongue by Lara Kramer Danse (Montreal); the B.C. premiere of Wéi 成为 by tiger princess dance projects (Toronto); the Vancouver premieres of Method Dance Society’s Behind Veiled Eyes (Prince George) as well as Lasterday, with choreography by Hanna Kiel/Kaeja d’Dance (Toronto); Calder White’s Nowing; Simran Sachar’s Act Twenty Five; the world premiere of Clala Dance Project’s Uchi うち; the Western Canadian premieres of FakeKnot’s Croquis as well as since then, with choreography by Peggy Baker (Toronto); the world premiere of Helen Walkley’s blocking; Belle Spirale Dance Projects’ assemble; the Canadian premiere of Joshua Beamish/MOVETHECOMPANY’s SALT; Cristina Bucci’s Sisu; and the world premiere of Furious Grace Dance Theatre’s Gravity in Your Eyes.
