Whistler Blackcomb is throwing a mountainside party to celebrate early opening

Get your boards and skis ready because North America’s largest ski resort is opening for the winter season sooner than expected.

Whistler Blackcomb has announced that the 2024/25 ski season will officially kick off one day early on Thursday, November 21.

The mountain resort is also throwing a mountainside party to welcome powder hounds back to the slopes.

Blackcomb Mountain is the first to open on Thursday, November 21, with lifts beginning to spin bright and early at 8:30 am.

On the first day, guests will be welcomed with music, prizes, and treats. DJ Cat will also spin high-energy jams to keep the energy up at the top of Blackcomb Gondola.

Whistler Mountain opens on Friday, November 22, and the party continues across the resort municipality. Explore Whistler Village and the Upper Village to take in a traditional welcome from the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC) in Skier’s Plaza. There will also be music and DJs, swag, sponsored prizes and giveaways, and cookies to enjoy in the morning.
