Drivers in the Fraser Valley can expect major delays Friday after a car fire forced Highway 1 to shut in both directions.
According to the BC Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided on Highway 1 near the Yale Road West exit. One was a small car, and the other was a van. Police say the van rolled over and caught fire.
“The investigation is progressing and traffic will be affected in both directions,” Cpl. Michael McLaughlin said. “Our officers are working hard to determine the cause of the incident and we can confirm that there were injuries.”
DriveBC said all lanes are open again, but drivers can still expect delays through the area.
