Vancouver restaurant shutting down after serving the community for over 20 years

After so many restaurant closures in 2024, we hoped we’d see less of them in 2025. However, it’s looking like they’re not slowing down.

Aphrodite’s Organic Cafe in Vancouver took to Instagram to announce that it will be closing its doors.

“After many years of being a beloved destination in Kitsilano, the rising costs of doing business has simply become too much for us to continue,” said the cafe. “We want to take these last couple of weeks to honour and celebrate our amazing staff, our wonderful customers and our incredible products.”

According to its website, Aphrodite’s first opened its pie shop location at 3598 W 4th Avenue in Vancouver in 2003, and then its cafe at 3605 W 4th Avenue shortly after.

But don’t worry, Aphrodite’s did go on to add that its pie shop is not going anywhere.

“Though our restaurant is closing, we’re excited to let you know that Aphrodite’s Pie Shop will remain open. In the coming weeks, we’ll be expanding our pie shop offerings, and adding some of your favourite dishes from the restaurant to the pie shop, all in a convenient setting,” said the cafe.

Aphrodite’s will close its doors for good on Sunday, February 2, and encourages people to come visit before then.

“We invite you to come visit us over our last few weeks, as we reflect on the memories we’ve created with you and allow for all to enjoy the final moments of this chapter.”
