Vancouver mochi donut shop shutting down both of its locations

Restaurants have been closing all over Vancouver, and we have now received the sad news that another much-loved mochi donut stop will be closing all of its locations.

Mochido confirmed to Dished that it will be closing both its Vancouver and Coquitlam locations.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we’re announcing the closure of our Vancouver and Coquitlam locations at the end of January,” a representative from Mochido told Dished.

Mochido got its start back in 2021 when it operated out of Vancouver’s Commissary Connect on Laurel Street, where folks could either walk in for treats or order for delivery. Since then, it opened an open-kitchen concept in Coquitlam (which we referred to as “donut heaven”) and operated numerous pop-ups throughout Metro Vancouver.

The spot was best known for its lineup of mochi donut flavours like cinnamon roll and salted brown butter.

“This decision wasn’t easy, but we want to reassure our customers that this isn’t goodbye forever—just a pause before something new,” Mochido told Dished.

“We’re excited to let everyone know that our Vancouver store will be reopening starting tomorrow and will remain open until the end of the month. We can’t wait to welcome our customers back and encourage everyone to visit both our Vancouver and Coquitlam locations one last time before we close this chapter.”

Mochido’s Coquitlam and Vancouver locations will remain open until the end of January.
