Vancouver Middle Eastern eatery to close after seven years of service

The restaurant industry has had a tough start to 2025, with many spots announcing that they will be closing, and now another much-loved Vancouver restaurant has shared the news that it’s getting ready to serve its final meal.

On the day of its seventh anniversary, Aleph took to Instagram to announce that it will be closing its doors.

“For seven incredible years, Aleph has been more than a restaurant. It’s been a place of connection, a celebration of flavors, and a shared journey with our community. Now, as we prepare to say goodbye, we invite you to join us in making these final two weeks unforgettable,” wrote Aleph.

In the video announcing the closure, Aleph cited the reason for the closure being debts from the pandemic that it couldn’t recover from despite its best efforts.

However, the restaurant is still encouraging folks to stop in for one last visit and to support the eatery, as well as contribute to its fundraiser, which it says will “help us address the debts we carry” and “change the outcome of our lives as we move forward.”

“Endings are also beginnings, and while this chapter closes, the spirit of Aleph will live on in all of us,” concluded the restaurant.

Aleph will serve its last brunch and dinner on January 26.
