J.T. Miller’s days with the Vancouver Canucks may be numbered.
The 31-year-old has been in the rumour mill plenty as of late, mainly due to his reported ongoing rift with teammate Elias Pettersson. There has been speculation that it could lead to one of the two star forwards being traded, and while both remain with the Canucks at this time, it seems as though management is leaning towards moving Miller.
CHEK’s Rick Dhaliwal put out a bombshell of a report this afternoon, taking to X to say that there is a lot of activity surrounding Miller today, while also mentioning that there are some who believe the Canucks are working hard to get something done.
JT Miller has not been asked to waive his no trade clause yet but there seems to be a lot activity around Miller today.
Some think the Canucks are working hard on this.

Dhaliwal also mentioned that at this time, the Canucks have not asked Miller to waive his no-movement clause.
It’s been a disappointing season for Miller, who, after a 37-goal, 103-point 2023-24 season, has managed just eight goals and 29 points through 34 games. Perhaps worst of all is his body language, which at times has made him seem completely checked out. That was on display in Thursday’s 5-1 loss to the LA Kings.
Despite his frustrating season, Miller is one of the better forwards in the NHL when at his best, and is certain to garner interest from several teams if the Canucks are indeed pushing hard to move him.
One team that has already reportedly been kicking the tires on Miller is the New Jersey Devils, who are in a position to go on a lengthy playoff run this spring.
The New York Rangers have also reportedly expressed interest in a reunion with Miller. Interestingly enough, the Rangers AHL affiliate Hartford Wolfpack have scratched some of their best players in Adam Sykora, Bo Groulx, Blake McLaughlin, and Jaroslav Chmelar ahead of tonight’s game versus the Charlotte Checkers.

“More and more people you talk to say they will not be surprised if the Canucks move Miller, and maybe Donnie, they’ve got to move him a whole lot quicker than originally anticipated,” Dhaliwal said yesterday on CHEK’s Donnie & Dhali show.

Something has got to give for this Canucks team, who currently sit outside the playoff picture past the midway point of the season. While fans were hoping the reported locker room issues would get sorted out, it looks as though management is looking at a big trade in order to help turn things around.
