A cafe in Vancouver is pleading for the return of two hand-crafted mugs that were reportedly stolen, and the cafe has video footage to back up its claim.
Whisk Matcha Cafe, a cafe that, as the name implies, specializes in matcha-flavoured food and beverage, was where the incident occurred.
The video shows two women, one with a baby in a stroller, leaving with the mugs. As the pair are walking out, one of the women conceals the mugs under her coat.

The cafe shared a video as a story on its Instagram page, with a caption stating, “I cannot believe what happened today.”
“If you’re the one who stole them, or if you know these two people, DM me.”
For Whisk, they don’t want this to be a more significant issue than it is. While the mugs are valued at around $150, it’s the sentimental value that’s of note and the primary concern of the cafe. Daily Hive spoke with the owner of the Vancouver cafe, who told us they don’t have any leads yet.
“I just hope that someone might know them so they can return the mugs. I didn’t want to make a big deal about it,” they said.
The mugs were handmade, and the artist took hours to draw the patterns for each one.
“It’s just heartbreaking to see that the mugs got stolen like this.”
The artist, who goes by Emily Created, also shared her thoughts about the incident in which her mugs were taken.
Many have taken to the comments of the cafe’s Instagram page in support.
“That’s very sad! Hopefully, these people come back and return them,” one Instagram user said.
“And they have a baby!! What kind of values are they teaching,” another user said.
Traffiq, another Vancouver cafe, also responded to the post, stating, “You invest in your place to make it special, unique, and so lovely, and then you are robbed of your efforts!”
