US-based tech firm Boomi opens major downtown Vancouver office

The Bentall Centre office complex in downtown Vancouver now boasts a new major multinational high-tech tenant.

This week, Boomi officially opened its office at the Four Bentall Centre office tower at 1055 Dunsmuir Street, spanning nearly 54,000 sq ft across three full floors. It features flexible and collaborative workspaces, and a range of in-office and shared in-building amenities for workers. This location is deemed to be their Vancouver Centre of Excellence.

The Pennsylvania-based cloud-based data management firm assists organizations in automating and streamlining critical processes, including the use of artificial intelligence for data flows and management. It has over 23,000 customers globally, and a rapidly expanding network of over 800 partners.

“The opening of Boomi’s Vancouver office marks a significant milestone in our continued global growth strategy, and positions the company well to tap into Vancouver’s highly skilled local talent,” said Steve Lucas, CEO of Boomi, in a statement.

“This new hub will enhance our ability to deliver unique, personalized, and customized solutions and support for customers worldwide.”

Boomi first expanded into Vancouver in 2023, and has hired nearly 200 new employees for the location to date, with plans to further grow the team in 2025.

The company is in a global expansion mode, with its recent office openings in Sydney, Barcelona, and Bengaluru, and a new headquarters office in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

The Vancouver location previously operated from a temporary smaller space within the adjacent Three Bentall Centre tower.

“Boomi’s decision to establish their office at the Bentall Centre is a testament to Vancouver’s growing appeal as a vibrant, forward-thinking city for global organizations,” said Chuck We, Executive Vice President of Pacific Northwest and Canada of Los Angeles-based Hudson Pacific Properties, which is the operator and co-owner of Bentall Centre.

“We look forward to welcoming the Boomi team to the Bentall Centre campus, where they can take full advantage of the unique programming, dynamic public spaces, and robust amenities we offer.”

Ever since the Bentall Centre complex was acquired by Hudson Pacific Properties and New York City-based Blackstone Property Partners in 2019, major investments have been made to upgrade the four-tower property, which was built between 1969 and 1981. This includes overhauling shared office amenity spaces, improving the public plaza spaces, and introducing new and expanded retail and restaurant offerings to bring new activity to the five-acre site.

Bentall Centre has also been in a state of flux, with WeWork withdrawing from much of its significant space in the towers in recent years, as a part of the company’s gradual withdrawal of its global co-working office space footprint.

Earlier in January 2024, Daily Hive Urbanized reported Sony Pictures Imageworks’ global headquarters office in Vancouver will relocate from its decade-long location of CF Pacific Centre (above the former Nordstrom space) to a fourth-level space within the atrium of The Post — a level that was previously intended for retail uses. According to commercial real estate firm Newmark, Sony’s new office space at The Post will span 52,300 sq ft — down from its existing location of 74,000 sq ft above the former department store volume.
