Truck rolls over on Highway 1 during Lower Mainland windstorm

How windy was it in the Lower Mainland yesterday? Windy enough for a transport truck to roll over on Highway 1.

Chilliwack resident Erik Dv shared video to X Monday of an orange truck getting caught by a gust and rolling sideways into the left lane.

Daily Hive has reached out to BC Emergency Health Services and Chilliwack RCMP to see if anyone was hurt in the crash.

The region was under a wind warning from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) for most of the day, with gusts of more than 100 kilometres per hour. The weather agency called the storm a “vigorous frontal system.”

It cut power for tens of thousands of South Coast residents, with some dealing with no electricity overnight.

ECCC is calling for a mix of sun and cloud Tuesday and Wednesday before rain returns Thursday.
