“Thriving” tech company in Vancouver hiring to fill remote jobs that pay well

While we are bombarded with the news of brutal tech job layoffs, one Vancouver company said it’s “thriving despite the tough times.”

Canadian employees in the tech sector have been working in really uncertain times as companies deliver unfortunate layoff notices.

However, Vancouver’s Readymode said it had grown 35% and is pulling in US$25 million in revenue this year alone.

This is why Readymode announced it is doubling its tech team from 15 to 30 over the coming months.

Rob Auld, the call center software company’s CRO, explained to Daily Hive that the company was founded by CEO Jason Jantz, who aimed to find the appropriate call center technology to manage his own businesses.

“He actually built the call center tools that we use today to manage about 1,900 customers, Auld said.

“It’s built for salespeople, by salespeople to manage call center agents.”

Auld further explained that while big tech companies are downsizing, small companies like Readymode are doing well because they focus on defined and niche markets.

“By bootstrapping, we are both ruthlessly efficient and self-sufficient. That means we don’t experience the ebbs and flows of the market. We have no VC (venture capital) backing, so all the capital could dry up tomorrow and it won’t impact us, Auld said.

“This crazy idea of running a profitable business from Day 1 is our secret sauce. It sounds like common sense, but it’s incredibly rare in the tech industry.

Readymode has 70 employees, and Auld said the company is now focusing on hiring to fill tech and engineering roles. Marketing and sales roles will likely also be made available in the coming months.

He said the company does not have a deadline for when it aims to double its staffing.

The fastest we can get people who have the skills that we need to make the product better. That’s as fast as as as we go, Auld said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, nine job postings are for people based in Canada and the US.

While most staff are based in Vancouver and around BC, Auld said the company is opening to hire people around the country.

“It’s a mistake just to limit it to Vancouver, he said.

Readymode does not have a physical office, so all roles are remote.

Additional perks include a complete benefits package that starts on your first day.
