Global superstar Taylor Swift mentioned Vancouver in her latest Instagram post, where she got emotional about the wildly successful Eras Tour coming to a close.
Swift just wrapped up six shows in Toronto and will be coming to BC Place next for her final three concerts on December 6, 7, and 8.
“Our next city will be the last one of The Eras Tour, and the closing of the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far,” Swift said Tuesday. “See you [soon], Vancouver. We can’t wait to give you all we’ve got for three more shows.”
Swift added that Canadian fans in Toronto treated her like it was a hometown show, saying she was grateful to come north of the border “after so much time.”
She added that “the emotions have gotten pretty heightened for me,” as the tour draws to a close.
Ticketmaster released a surprise batch of listening-only tickets Monday for Swift’s Vancouver show. The seats won’t be able to see the stage, but fans could still hear her sing. Thousands queued for a shot at the tickets starting at $15 plus tax and service fees. By Tuesday morning, the cheap tickets were already listed for thousands on StubHub.
Demand for seats at Swift’s shows has been crushing, with fans complaining about how Ticketmaster fails to protect against reselling by scalpers. Some Canadian fans flew around the world to see the star because they couldn’t get tickets to her Toronto and Vancouver shows.
The Eras Tour kicked off in March 2023, meaning Taylor Swift has been touring for more than a year and a half. It’s not known when she’ll go on tour next, but there are plenty of afterparties in Vancouver to commemorate the end of her post-pandemic trot around the globe.
