It’s been a tough year for the restaurant industry, and now another spot has announced it will be closing.
Ramen Gaoh took to Instagram to announce that its final day of service will be November 30, 2024.
“After careful consideration and evaluation of various factors, It is with humble gratitude and a heavy heart that we announce the closing of Ramen Gaoh,” said the ramen spot.
“We’ve faced many challenges along the way — bursting frozen pipes, floods, many break-ins and even a gruelling pandemic. However, the realities of the current restaurant industry, with rising operational costs and mounting pressures, have made it increasingly difficult to keep our doors open. After much reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Ramen Gaoh in order to refocus on our original mission: Bring Authentic Japanese Ramen from Japan to the rest of the world.”
However, ramen fans will be happy to hear that starting December 1, the space will be turned into Ramen Butcher where the same team will be serving up authentic Hakata-style tonkatsu ramen.
Recently, many other restaurants have been rebranding into new concepts. Shameless Buns, recently turned its brick-and-mortar space into a New England clam chowder restaurant, and Menya Juémon is now a grab-and-go onigiri spot.
