Driving in Metro Vancouver during a snowstorm can be tricky, but some drivers seem to make it a little harder on themselves.
Burnaby RCMP announced that they stopped 112 vehicles near Broadway and North Road in just two hours due to improper snow clearing.
Driving a vehicle that is covered in snow isn’t just dangerous; it can also be a hit to the pocketbook.
Reminder: Clear your vehicle! 🚨❄️

Driving with an obstructed view can result in a $109 fine under Section 195 (1) (b) of the Motor Vehicle Act. The fine applies to not only a car’s front, rear, and side windows but also to the headlights and taillights.
Burnaby RCMP did not specify if the 112 drivers pulled over were issued fines but did warn that leaving snow on your vehicle could lead to getting a ticket.
Leaving snow on your vehicle, including the windshield/windows/roof creates safety hazards for all road users and could result in being ticketed.

Several other Metro Vancouver RCMP departments also warned drivers to clear their vehicles before hitting the road.
