Netflix is hiring in Vancouver ahead of new studio completion

A new Netflix studio is on its way to Vancouver, and it sounds like the streaming platform is preparing to fill it with employees.

Netflix recently shared the job posting on Indeed.

While specific job details are currently unavailable, we know that roles will be centred around feature animation.

What once was Animal Logic Studios is now Netflix Animation Studios Vancouver.

“After nearly a decade as Animal Logic Studios, our Vancouver location has been home to some of the most iconic animated films, spanning both existing IP and original content. Now operating as Netflix Animation Studios Vancouver, our teams continue to create world-class animated films, leveraging cutting-edge technology and tools,” Netflix says.

The current studio is located in Yaletown. Soon, a new “state-of-the-art” creative space will open in Mount Pleasant. This space “aims to promote the Vancouver creative economy while achieving a net-zero carbon lifecycle.”

Netflix is currently offering folks the opportunity to apply as an expression of interest in future roles.

Essentially, if you’re interested in a job with Netflix in Vancouver and don’t see any openings, you can apply to be considered for future roles when they do appear. There’s a good chance that when the new studio launches, there’ll be a push for new employees, and getting your name in the database might be a good idea.

Netflix says that it is an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity, and it recognizes that “diversity builds stronger teams.”

The company will occupy 110,000 sq ft of space within the building at 110 East 5th Avenue, which replaces the surface parking lot at the southeast corner of the intersection of East 5th Avenue and Quebec Street — about a five-minute walk from SkyTrain’s future Mount Pleasant Station.
