Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025
What: The first-ever Winter Hybrid Invictus Games are coming to BC in 2025, and there’s plenty for fans to look forward to.
Invictus Games bring together wounded, injured, and ill service personnel to the arena to compete and inspire recovery and rehabilitation. More than 500 competitors from up to 25 nations will compete in the Games.
The entertainment lineup for Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 features a star-studded lineup of musical acts. Chris Martin of Coldplay, Katy Perry, Noah Kahan and Nelly Furtado headline the highly anticipated opening ceremony at BC Place on Saturday, February 8.
Closing ceremonies of the Invictus Games will also bring together some huge stars, including Jelly Roll, Barenaked Ladies, and The War and Treaty.

Dine Out Vancouver 2025
What: Dine Out Vancouver is set to spotlight the city’s world-renowned food scene with a host of unique culinary experiences until Sunday, February 9.

Robson Square Ice Rink
What: Calling all whimsical winter lovers! The Robson Square Ice Rink is open for the new skating season, and all ages are invited to hit the ice.
Located under the covered outdoor plaza at Robson Square, the rink operates seasonally when temperatures begin to dip. Skating is free, and those without skates can rent them on-site for a fee. Helmets are mandatory for anyone under the age of 12.
The downtown Vancouver wintry tradition will operate until the end of February.

The ninth annual Just For Laughs Vancouver will take place from February 13 to 23. Fans of all things funny will have lots to enjoy over the 10 hilarious days, including star-powered stand-up, podcasts, improv and sketch, and more.

The Wellness Show

Tin Soldier Time Capsule Opening
What: The World’s Tallest Tin Soldier in New Westminster has been keeping a secret for over 20 years, and it will soon be revealed during a public celebration.
There will be a free hot beverage station, children’s activities, and a live reading of the book Tall Tale: The True Story of the World’s Largest Tin Soldier by author Tiffany Stone. Kwantlen artist Brandon Gabriel will transform the soldier into the World’s Largest Coast Salish Welcome Pole with a projection when the sun sets.
Items discovered inside the time capsule will be displayed inside the Fraser River Discovery Centre until 8 pm.

And fun can be had no matter the weather – the Shipyards Skate Plaza is covered by a retractable roof.

Vancouver Chinatown Spring Festival Celebration and Parade
What: One of the city’s largest annual parades is returning to Chinatown this week to help kick off Lunar New Year celebrations in Vancouver.
The 51st Vancouver Chinatown Spring Festival Celebration is happening on Sunday, February 2, 2025, the fifth day of the Year of the Snake. The popular event is expected to draw over 5,000 participants and more than 100,000 spectators to the neighbourhood, with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and more for everyone to enjoy.

LunarFest 2025 – Year of the Snake
What: Celebrate the Year of the Snake with LunarFest and discover the many stories of the snake through The Lantern City.
Guests are invited to take a walk through five different locations in downtown Vancouver and on Granville Island to see 36 lanterns created by artists of diverse cultural backgrounds.
Then, head back to Granville Island every weekend from February 1 to 16 for an artist market, crafts workshops, food, games, and more at Ocean Artworks. Free admission for all ages to enjoy.

Silk Road Music: Lunar New Year Celebration

Lunar New Year at the Met 2025
What: No plans for the Lunar New Year in Vancouver? Think again! The Met is hosting several fun activities to enjoy.

In collaboration with the Chinese Canadian Museum, cultural workshops will also be taking place, including Chinese lantern-making, abacus learning, and family-friendly fun.

Songs of Freedom
What: Songs of Freedom is a celebration of Black music and culture at Christ Church Cathedral. The 13th annual concert in honour of Black History Month features performances by Candus Churchill, Krystle Dos Santos, Dawn Pemberton, Star Trickey, Minnijean Brown-Trickey, and the Marcus Mosely Ensemble. Black History Month at VIFF Centre
What: VIFF Centre presents two series of films that shine a spotlight on Black film, artists, and creators.

Atlanthos: Youth-Driven Innovation Through Afrofuturistic Storytelling
What: The Museum of Anthropology commemorates Black History Month by hosting Atlanthos: Youth-Driven Innovation Through Afrofuturistic Storytelling.
The fictional futuristic underwater world was made by 11 Ethọ́s Lab Griots, youth storytellers inspired by the West African tradition of oral history. The Atlanthos event will also feature a panel discussion on Ethọ́s Lab’s work on Afrofuturism, storytelling, and youth-led creativity.

HSBC SVNS Vancouver
What: Rugby sevens returns to BC Place from February 21 to 23 for three days of excitement. This is the 10th time Vancouver has hosted the event.
The rugby sevens tournament, which includes both men’s and women’s events, is a massive party where fans get dressed up, sing, and cheer on the athletes on the field. Games are played with just seven-minute halves, but one ticket gets you into the building for a whole day of matches.
It’s normal to see all fans dressed in all types of outfits from superheroes to animated characters to random objects. The tournament is one of the most fun and unique sporting events Vancouver hosts each year.

La Poutine Week 2025
What: The most gravy-filled, cheesiest time of year is nearly upon us, as La Poutine Week is returning for its 11th year this month. The annual celebration of all things fries, cheese, gravy, and more will take place in cities across Canada, including Vancouver, from February 1 to 7.
