Big news for Korean BBQ fans: Makchang Dodook is opening its first-ever BC location, and it’s right here in Metro Vancouver.
Located at 1150 Austin Avenue, Coquitlam, the spot’s grand opening is slated for Thursday, June 13, at 11:30 am.
The space is touted as a “culinary cellblock” with flavours so captivating, “they’ll lock you down,” and the decor is designed to match that vibe, featuring bars and a thief as the logo.
The restaurant’s name comes from its signature dish, Makchang, aka grilled intestine. It serves pork and beef iterations.
The spot also has plenty of additional Korean BBQ favourites, such as short ribs, pork belly in a variety of flavours, scallops, and tiger prawns.
Diners will also be able to get Makchang Dodook’s soju to wash down all that BBQ.
Makchang Dodook is a chain originating from South Korea and opened its first Canadian location in Edmonton this year. It has also recently opened a location in Calgary.
