Landslide halts Amtrak service between Seattle and Vancouver

Amtrak passenger train service between Seattle and Vancouver has been halted after a landslide in White Rock blocked the tracks.

According to the national passenger railroad company, BNSF has placed a 48-hour moratorium on service between the two major West Coast cities until Friday, December 20.

Amtrak posted on X that multiple trains had to be cancelled “due to debris on the tracks between Vancouver and Bellingham.” It also added that passengers would be bused to their destination during the service suspension.
