High-paying customer service jobs around Metro Vancouver

Customer service jobs are in high demand around Vancouver, but many only pay minimum wage.

Fortunately, if you look hard enough, you can find more lucrative roles.

According to Indeed, these are Metro Vancouver’s highest-paying customer service jobs.

Most customer service positions don’t require an educational background past high school. However, many of the higher-paying gigs require some experience in customer service, while more entry-level roles are likely to pay closer to minimum wage.

If you want to work in the education sector, the Vancouver Secondary Teachers’ Association is hiring a casual office support worker. The position pays $34.03 per hour. Applicants need effective oral and written English communication skills, a high level of customer service, and the desire to assist others. Applicants require legal permission to work in Canada and a high school diploma, along with two years of experience.

If you like customer service and also pooch service, you might want to look at this pet groomer position being offered by Healthy Dog Ltd. The position pays up to $26 per hour and requires applicants to have good customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners. Some knowledge of dog breeds is required, and experience is preferred.

If you have your credentials in first aid training, the City of Surrey is looking for a first aid instructor, and the job pays $28.89 an hour. Along with skills in customer service, applicants need one of the following awards:

  • Lifesaving Society First Aid Instructor
  • Red Cross First Aid Instructor

If you’re interested in working in law enforcement, the City of Richmond is currently hiring for a counter clerk at its RCMP detachment. Applicants only need completion of Grade 12 and, ideally, one year of related experience in a police department, but the job listing doesn’t list it as a requirement. The position pays up to $38.51 an hour.

Walmart is hiring a manager who would specialize in championing engagement and retention programs in the store. The manager would also ensure there are no gaps in the customer experience. This position pays up to $84,600 per year.
