Here’s how to take a $32 bus from Vancouver to Whistler this winter

It’s that time of year when all the snow bunnies start flocking to Whistler for an adrenaline-filled trip. But before you go, we have an important tip to save you money and energy.

After a long drive up to Whistler, some of us know all too well that the hard work starts when you have to try and find a place to park.

So, to save yourself the hassle, we suggest ditching the vehicle and catching a shuttle.

Any day you need, Skylynx organizes a shuttle to pick up folks from Vancouver and drop them off in Whistler.

You can catch a ride from either Vancouver International Airport or downtown Vancouver.

There are several departure times everyday.

However, for those in a rush, passengers can catch an express shuttles that will take them directly from YVR airport to Whistler without any stops.

In Whistler, drop-offs are available at:

  • Whistler Village Centre,
  • Whistler Creekside Centre,
  • Fairmont Chateau Whistler,
  • Hilton Whistler Resort and Spa,
  • and Westin Resort and Spa.

Of course, when you’re ready to head home, there are shuttles to Vancouver as well.

During the winter and spring seasons (November 22 to April 17), Skylynx also offers an “executive service,” which is like a first-class bus ride.

“Motorcoach buses [are] equipped with premium cabin comfort features including ultra-wide seating, extra-large seat tables, and high-speed wifi. All Executive service seats are flexible tickets and will come with all the travel options and flexibility associated with our flexible ticket(s) package,” the site reads.

If you are travelling from downtown Vancouver to Whistler, a one-way standard ticket will cost $32, and a round-trip is $42.

The most expensive ticket you could purchase is for the executive service round-trip from YVR, which would cost $115.

It is important to note that standard tickets are not refundable, but flexible and executive service tickets are.

For folks travelling with kids, children under 6 years old can ride for free. But children aged between 6 and 12 years old are 50% off the adult price.

So, considering Whistler hiking lift ticket prices — again, we think the savings on a bus trip up to Whistler will go a long way this winter.

Check out the YVR Skylynx online timetable for more information on shuttle frequency.
