Freezing temperatures coming to Vancouver as snowfall continues

Vancouver’s first blast of winter weather will continue to start the week, with temperatures dipping well below freezing in the region.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued its latest weather forecast for Vancouver, and it includes periods of flurries throughout Monday and into Tuesday.

You may want to bundle up if you need to head outside because the wind chill is sending temperatures plummeting.

This ECCC is warning that the wind chill will make temperatures feel like -7°C on Monday morning. Gusts continue into the evening, with wind chill making things feel like -9°C overnight.

While winds are expected to die down, temperatures in Metro Vancouver will remain below freezing for much of the week, hovering around -0°C and -1°C during the day and dipping as low as -6°C on Tuesday and Thursday.

There is light on the horizon as sunshine will return to the forecast starting on Wednesday and into the weekend.

Many parts of Metro Vancouver experienced their first significant snowfall of the season over the weekend, with Environment Canada issuing a snowfall warning.

The federal meteorological agency called for 10 cm to 20 cm of snowfall in the region into Monday morning. So don’t put away your snow shovels just yet.
