Four Canadians split Lotto Max second prize, and three wake up $1M richer

All eyes were on Tuesday night’s Lotto Max draw, with a jackpot that ballooned to $80 million for the second time in history.

Unfortunately, lottery players’ dreams of winning the massive prize were dashed. No one matched all seven of the winning numbers (20, 24, 31, 33, 36, 41, 49, and bonus 50), which means the $80 million goes unclaimed.

However, there were still several major wins from last night’s Lotto Max draw.

Four Canadians matched six of the seven numbers (including the bonus) to split the second prize. One lottery player from Kelowna, two from Ontario, and one from Quebec are taking home $99,588.30 each.

On top of that, 14 Maxmillions prizes were up for grabs. Three Canadians became new millionaires Wednesday morning.

One player from Ontario matched the winning numbers 2, 3, 7, 16, 26, 29, 49 to take home one of the Maxmillions.

Two people from Western Canada — one Western Canada Lottery Corporation subscription and another from Alberta — also won $1 million each. They matched the winning numbers 4, 7, 10, 34, 35, 46, 49 and 4, 26, 36, 39, 40, 41, 46.

The luck didn’t stop there.

The winning numbers for the Lotto Max Extra prize were 13, 29, 59, and 70. Someone from White Rock, BC, matched all four to win the $500,000 top prize.

If you didn’t beat the odds this time around, the next Lotto Max draw is this Friday. The prize pool grows to $100 million, including the $80 million jackpot and an estimated 20 Maxmillions.

You could end up like the lottery players who won the first $80 million windfall.
