Taking public transit to a major event will never go out of “style,” and that is especially true when Taylor Swift comes to Vancouver with The Eras Tour in December.
The City of Vancouver announced yesterday that major roads in Downtown Vancouver will be shut down on December 6, 7, and 8 to accommodate the over 160,000 Swifties attending the concerts.
To help fans get to Taylor Swift’s concerts, TransLink has announced that it is adding extra bus, SkyTrain, and SeaBus service on all three nights and a special West Coast Express train on Saturday, December 7.

“There will be Transit Volunteers and extra staff — including SkyTrain Attendants, Transit Supervisors, Transit Security officers, and Metro Vancouver Transit Police officers — on the system to help you get where you need to go,” added TransLink online.
SkyTrain will have enhanced late afternoon service and increased frequencies after the show to manage the crowds. The last SkyTrain will depart at 1:15 am.

And passengers can look forward to bus services being adjusted as needed, with additional vehicles on standby in case they are needed.
Special “Swift Buses” will also be staged outside of BC Place to transport fans to Waterfront Station on concert nights.

A special West Coast Express midnight train is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, departing from Mission City Centre Station at 4 pm and a return trip departing from Waterfront Station at 12 am.
Those riding the SeaBus can expect the vessel to operate every 10 minutes after 3 pm and extend sailings by three hours until the last trip departs Waterfront Station at 1:22 am (1:16 am on Sunday).

BC Ferries and Hullo Ferries will also extend hours on December 6, 7, and 8 to transport Swifties from Vancouver Island to the big show. On waters closer to home, Aquabus and False Creek Ferries will also run late into the night.
According to Chris May, the general manager of BC Place, over 70% of ticket holders will be coming from outside the Lower Mainland, which could lead to additional traffic to and from Taylor Swift’s concerts.
