The Vancouver Canucks could use some good news right now, and this certainly qualifies.
Thatcher Demko’s return to the Canucks’ lineup is now “imminent,” according to Darren Dreger of TSN.
“His expected return is imminent. I would say sooner rather than later,” Dreger said on Monday’s edition of Sekeres and Price.
Dreger added that the Canucks haven’t shared a “specific date” for when Demko will return but that he’s looking good in practice. Demko has been participating in Canucks practices for almost two weeks.
“They like what they’re seeing in practice. So it does feel like inside days (rather than weeks) now,” Dreger said.

Dregs believes Demko’s return will come sooner rather than later, with the Vezina finalist looking better and better in practice.

There has been no shortage of Demko rumours and reports since the Canucks’ All-Star goaltender was injured in the playoffs. It’s been nearly seven months since his last game.
This update from Dreger does seem like the most positive update yet, though.
The Canucks have been able to survive without Demko this season, posting a 9-5-3 record largely thanks to the excellent play of Kevin Lankinen. Lankinen’s hot streak has cooled of late, though, as the 29-year-old netminder has given up 16 goals in his last four games.
