The Vancouver Canucks held their annual Halloween party last week. And while the costume bash featured plenty of memorable outfits, one player managed to go under the radar — until now.
Veteran defenceman Tyler Myers and his wife, Michela, surprised Canucks fans with a late addition to this year’s spooky season festivities. One might even call it a buzzer-beater.
Taking to Instagram on Monday night, Myers showed off the couple’s hilarious Caitlin Clark costume.
Embracing his towering 6-foot-8 frame, Myers dressed as the women’s basketball star, complete with an Indiana Fever jersey, headband, and even a ponytail to complete the look. Michela went all-in too, dressing up as a giant Wilson basketball to make the costume a slam dunk.
Fans loved the creative pairing, with many taking to social media to say it was one of the best costumes they’d seen from a Canucks player.
“Tyler Myers wins Halloween,” former Canucks video reporter Kate Pettersen declared.

Another X user deemed the Texas native a “class act.”
Perfect! What a class act!
Myers really is the hilarious dude that I heard.

One user, however, argued that the crown should instead go to JT Miller and his wife, who made waves with their gender-bending Auston Powers ensemble.
as good as this was i think i gotta give it to nat and jt, tyler being a close second

Given the Vancouver forward’s commitment to the bit, it’s hard to disagree.
With that said, this isn’t the first time Myers, 34, and his wife have made a splash with their Halloween costumes.
Last year, the couple channelled a crime-fighting duo straight out of reality TV, donning blonde wigs and black leather to transform into Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth Chapman.
With Halloween officially in the rearview mirror, Myers and the Canucks are riding high with five wins in their last seven outings. They’ll look to keep the momentum going when they take on the Anaheim Ducks with a road game tonight.
Puck drop is set for 7 pm PT.
