Canadian to celebrate holidays with $20 million lottery win

The holiday season became unforgettable for one lucky Canadian who became a multimillionaire after a life-changing lottery win.

The recent Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, December 20, and the winning numbers were 05, 06, 07, 24, 27, 29, 32, and bonus 47. According to OLG, someone in Ontario won the top prize.

“Ontario has done it again! The $20 million Lotto Max jackpot-winning ticket from last night’s draw was sold in Hamilton!” reads the release.

That person wasn’t the only Ontarian to win during last night’s draw.

After matching six of the seven numbers and the bonus number, one Ontario lottery player won the second prize, worth $170,346.30. The winning ticket was sold online at OLG.ca.

The third prize will be split between 47 Canadians after they matched six of the seven winning numbers. Each of them will receive a $3,624.40 prize.

The Lotto Max Extra winning numbers are 1, 14, 16, and 22. However, no one in BC won the $500,000 prize. In Ontario, no one matched Encore number 0002578 to win the $1 million prize, but two people won the second. Each will receive $100,000; the tickets were sold in Toronto and Lambton County.

The last time someone won the jackpot was on December 10. Another Ontario resident won the top prize, instantly becoming $40 million richer after they matched the winning numbers 03, 06, 22, 30, 32, 40, and 46. The ticket was sold in Wellington County.

After Friday night’s win, the Lotto Max prize has now reset to $10 million. The next draw is set for Tuesday, December 24.
