Canadian chain T&T Supermarket opens first US store in Bellevue

It’s no secret that T&T Supermarket is a favourite shopping destination for many Canadians. Now, Americans will have a chance to see what all the hype is about because the supermarket chain just opened its first store in the US.

Located in Bellevue, Washington, this new T&T location is 76,000 square feet, making it the largest Asian supermarket in the state.

“We couldn’t be more proud to bring the Asian grocery shopping experience from Canada to our friends in the Pacific Northwest,” shared T&T. “What makes today’s opening even more special is seeing not just our new US customers, but many Canadian expats who have moved to Seattle, showing up to support the opening of T&T. We’re beyond excited and so grateful for all the support we’ve received from our customers and the community.”

Tina Lee, CEO of T&T Supermarkets, previously announced that this location will feature a sushi counter, hot food bar, noodle station, in-store kitchen, and bakery.

T&T opened its first stores in Richmond and Burnaby in 1993. The company’s name is based on the initials of the two founders’ daughters, Tine and Tiffany, as well as two of its initial investors, Taiwanese company Tung-I and US-based Tawa. In 2009, T&T was acquired by Loblaw Companies Ltd.
