Taylor Swift fans from around the world are ready to sing and dance their hearts out now that the Eras Tour has finally arrived in Vancouver.
The multi-platinum, Grammy-winning artist is taking over BC Place for three dates — December 6, 7, and 8 — though her impact on the city goes far beyond that.
From massive friendship bracelets on bridges and horses to huge lineups outside of pop-up merch stores, Taylormania has truly taken root. And to celebrate the first night of The Eras Tour, we’re taking a look at all the ways Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has impacted Vancouver.

The number of fans expected to attend the three nights of concerts at BC Place. Several major road closures will be in place around BC Place and the stadium district to accommodate all of the fans during the events, so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to the show.

A news release from Destination Vancouver suggested that the total economic impact of the three shows in Vancouver would be $157 million. Of that, $97 million would be spent on accommodation, food, beverage, retail, and transportation.

The price of the coveted blue crewneck sweater that every fan has been lining up for hours to get their hands on at Canada Place and The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver. There are also t-shirts, hoodies, water bottles, posters, and more up for grabs.

Ticketholders are not permitted to line up before 3:30 pm on show days. Doors open at 4:30 pm each day, with the show slated to begin at 6:45 pm. BC Place also announced that overnight camping is strictly prohibited and that Taylgating is not permitted. Fences will be raised to prevent non-ticket holders from approaching the stadium before the shows.

The size of clutch purse or clear bags fans can bring into the concert according to BC Place’s bag policy. Exceptions may also be provided for diaper bags and medically necessary items that cannot fit into a clear bag.

Several road closures will be in effect in, around, and out of downtown Vancouver from noon until midnight on December 6, 7, and 8. The City is also setting up designated passenger pick-up and drop-off zones, which drivers, taxis and ride-shares can use for up to three minutes.

Much like the vibrant temporary installations appearing across downtown Vancouver, the Swiftie-themed SkyTrain map is bursting with colourful pastel shades of pink. The three SkyTrain lines and the West Coast Express commuter rail are reimagined as the beads of friendship bracelets, a playful nod to the bracelet swapping among Swifties during the Eras Tour.
Every 15 minutes
You’ve probably seen the city transform before your eyes into a Taylor Swift wonderland, and now Gastown is getting in on the fun.
The Gastown steam clock is playing Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” every 15 minutes until December 13. The first tune change in the steam clock’s history is in tribute to the landmark’s creator, Raymond Saunders, who was working on the project prior to his passing in November.
