Angelina Jolie shows love to Vancouver small business as she stops by to shop

Angelina Jolie seems to be enjoying her time in Vancouver and supporting local businesses while she’s here.

The actress popped by Artisan Avenue in the South Granville neighbourhood on January 27, and the shop posted about the star-studded visit on its Instagram page.

“Yesterday was nothing short of magical — Angeline Jolie walked into Artisan Avenue while I was prepping for our Valentine’s decorations!” wrote a staff member in the photo’s caption.

“I was absolutely stunned (still pinching myself!) to have such an inspiring conversation with someone so kind, down-to-earth, and genuinely supportive of local artisans.”

Artisan Avenue features creations and products made by Canadian artists and creatives.

The staff member added that Jolie took time to “explore, appreciate, and support [the store’s] amazing community of Artisans and makers.”

“No show-off, no entourage — just real, heartfelt encouragement for small businesses like ours.”

In the post’s comments, someone asked what she purchased from the local shop. Artisan Avenue shared that she “shopped from so many” of its featured artisans but didn’t disclose further details “to respect her privacy.”

Jolie also explored the city’s cafe scene, stopping by Nero Waffles’ new Granville location on the same day.

“Angelina casually came in, accompanied only by her driver, and spent time enjoying our famous authentic Belgian waffles,” the cafe told Daily Hive.

Jolie tried the original Liege waffles and an oat cappuccino and ended up taking a box of seven waffles to go, which included Nero’s signature custard-filled waffle.

“It was hard to believe it was her at first because who would expect Angelina Jolie to stroll into our shop? But there she was, humble, sweet, and interested in our waffles and how we make them fresh each morning. Seeing her appreciate what we’re so passionate about was an incredible honour,” added Nero.
