BC Emergency Health Services dispatched ambulances to the Whistler area Monday because of an avalanche in the mountains.
Not many details are available yet about where the avalanche started or how many people could be hurt. But Search and Rescue personnel are responding.
“We can confirm that we are aware of an avalanche in the Whistler area and have dispatched ambulance resources to care for any patients extracted from the scene,” paramedic public information officer Brian Twaites told Daily Hive.
Twaites said the service will provide updates when it’s able to.
Daily Hive has reached out to Sea to Sky RCMP for more information.
