The Taylor Swift-themed SkyTrain maps that brightened up The Eras Tour concert period in early December have now been swapped out for festive Christmas-themed maps.
This marks the return of TransLink’s “DasherTrain” SkyTrain map, which first made its debut during the 2021 Christmas season and now looks like it is on track to becoming an annual tradition.
The temporary seasonal maps rename each and every SkyTrain station with a fun, festive name.
The 2024 Christmas-themed map carries a different graphic design than the previous iterations. According to TransLink’s The Buzzer Blog, a total of seven print poster maps can now be found on the system to add a “touch of seasonal fun to your transit journey.” These locations are:
- Walkway to the SeaBus terminal at Waterfront (Wreathfront) Station
- Burrard (Blizzard) Station
- Main Street–Science World (Mulled Street–Snow Globe) Station
- Sapperton (Starlighton) Station
- Lougheed (Snowheed Town Centre) Station
- Sperling–Burnaby Lake (Skating–Burnaby Lake) Station
- King George (Stocking George) Station
Noticeably absent from the festive SkyTrain network map is the brand new Capstan Station, which opened on Friday on the Canada Line in Richmond as SkyTrain’s 54th station. The map was made before the final green light was given to open Capstan Station for service.
Other than the Christmas-themed and Taylor Swift-themed SkyTrain network maps, TransLink also previously created a Star Wars-themed map for “May The 4th Be With You” day in 2019.
The DasherTrain maps add to TransLink’s annual festive season fun of decorating six buses into “Reindeer Buses.”
