It’s been a few weeks since Paul Bissonnette was hospitalized following a physical altercation. The former hockey player turned podcast host was assaulted by seven men who were reportedly harassing staff members at a Houston’s restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona.
After footage of the scuffle outside the establishment surfaced on Tuesday, CBS 5 crime correspondent Briana Whitney obtained the 911 call made by the ex-NHLer on November 24.
The group of men tore off his shirt and shoes, so the 39-year-old went to a nearby CVS to alert local authorities.
“There were a couple of people harassing employees, and I tried to get in the way,” Bissonnette told the 911 operator. “They just all started throwing punches. I had to run out of the restaurant.”

Bissonnette described the attackers as “10 guys, all drunk,” adding, “I’m dead sober. I don’t even drink. They had me on the ground, kicked me in the head a couple of times. I got f*cked up pretty good.”
After providing his name, he explained, “I used to play hockey here, sir. If you talk to the staff, they’ll tell you I was just trying to help.”
Breathing heavily throughout the five-minute call, the former Arizona Coyotes forward added, “F*ck, I’m hurting,” describing his injuries.
One surveillance video shows a group of men trailing Bissonnette through a parking lot as he tries to distance himself from them. After a prolonged chase, they manage to surround him and force him to the ground.

While on the ground, Bissonnette appears to endure several kicks from some of the men. Fortunately, he eventually gets back to his feet and escapes before the assault could escalate further.
“It was never going to be a fair fight,” Bissonnette wrote in a Tuesday X post, replying to the newly surfaced footage. “F*ck the Scottsdale Six. This ain’t over.”
This is the worst of it I took after I knock out that inbred William Carroll fuck before we pass the dumpster. It was never going to be a fair fight. Let the games begin. Ate some boot fucks to the head & jaw but wouldn’t change a thing. Fuck the Scottsdale Six. This ain’t over. https://t.co/GZV0sjz8YO
