What: Western Canada’s biggest comedy festival is returning to Vancouver this February, and it’s heating up the winter season with a scorching lineup of stars.

The ninth annual Just For Laughs Vancouver will take place from February 13 to 23. Fans of all things funny will have lots to enjoy over the 10 hilarious days, including star-powered stand-up, podcasts, improv and sketch, and more.

Some of the stars include Silicon Valley and The Big Sick star Kumail Nanjiani, Fire Island and Drop Dead Diva star Margaret Cho, and The Daily Show’s Roy Wood Jr.

What: Amy Walsh hosts a dog-friendly comedy show in East Vancouver where four-legged pals are welcome. Bring your socialized puppy to enjoy some of the best local and international comics around in this monthly stand-up showcase. Dogs are free with a paying owner.

What: Vancouver stand-up faves Jon Endo, Cory Lupovichi, and Robert Peng are teaming up for the new Big Trouble in Little Canada tour. The trio members have been featured on Just for Laughs, the Seattle International Comedy Competition, and the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival, and they’re excited to cause a hilarious ruckus for three shows this winter.

What: The Improv Centre on Granville Island is celebrating Valentine’s all month long with Single, Not Single each Friday and Saturday night from February 7 to 28.

Whether you’re flying solo, in a dynamic duo, throupled, or none of the above, you’ll enjoy the comedians’ exploration of the ups and downs of relationships and singlehood.

What: Acclaimed Vancouver comedians Simon King and Harris Anderson invite the audience to get dark with them and a curated lineup of stand-ups in The Dark Room.

While the comics promise to provide the laughs, they also warn that the show is “not for the easily offended, those with weak sensibilities, or flat-out stupid people.”

Jerry Seinfeld

What: Jerry Seinfeld will perform two shows at the historic Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Sunday, February 23, as part of the ninth annual Just for Laughs Vancouver.

Seinfeld’s big break came with his appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1981. He is also beloved for his sitcom Seinfeld, co-created with Larry David, which won him legions of fans and awards at the Emmys, the Golden Globes, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The Brooklyn, New York-born star has written three best-selling books, has two lauded Netflix specials, Jerry Before Seinfeld and 23 Hours to Kill, and continues to serve up laughs with his popular series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

What: Chris Griffin has won the Vancouver’s Yuk Yuk’s Competition, is one of the only Canadian comics to reach the finals of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition, and has shared the stage with stand-up greats like Norm Macdonald, Tom Papa, and Bert Kreischer. He performs three shows at Yuk Yuks Surrey this month.
