Yellowhead Highway crash sends 6 people to hospital

The Kamloops RCMP says several people were sent to hospital after a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.

Mounties say they were called to the southernmost intersection of Yellowhead Highway and Old Highway 5 around 9:50 a.m. when a vehicle “left the roadway and collided with a light fixture.”

Police say six people were taken to the hospital with are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

According to investigators, the vehicle had rolled over and Kamloops Fire and Rescue crews helped with pulling out “at least two of the passengers.”

The RCMP says an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
