Wildfires from U.S. blowing smoke into Metro Vancouver

If you woke up and noticed the air was hazy Sunday morning, you are not alone.

According to the latest Metro Vancouver air quality update, wildfires in Washington and Oregon are producing smoke, causing smog in this region.

“Winds continue to blow smoke from these fires over our region, causing hazy conditions,” Metro Vancouver said in its advisory Sunday.

“Some smoke may reach the ground today.”

The Air Advisory is listed as medium risk for Sunday and low risk for Monday.

“A change in the weather will improve air quality this evening and overnight,” the advisory said.

“Cloudy and cooler weather is expected on Monday and through the week, with the possibility of some precipitation. Wildfire and smoke behaviour can change quickly.”

Metro Vancouver says staff are keeping an eye on conditions.
