A small wildfire east of Chilliwack has forced the closure of part of Highway 1 toward Hope.
At least one of the eastbound lanes has been shut down to allow BC Wildfire Service crews to battle the flames.
One caller to CityNews said the fire is about 300 metres from the highway, itself.
The BC Wildfire Service says the fire is about one hectare in size and was first spotted around 6:30 a.m. Monday.
