VPD seeking witnesses to East Van hit-and-run

Police are investigating after an alleged hit-and-run left a man seriously injured in East Vancouver last week.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says it was called to the scene of a collision on Nanaimo Street near East 29th Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 12.

Police say the victim, a 32-year-old man, was found by witnesses while lying in the middle of the road. The driver who allegedly hit the man with a vehicle was not on scene.

The victim was reportedly taken to hospital, where he remains with “serious, life-altering” injuries.

“Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision. We also want to speak to the driver to determine what circumstances led up to the incident,” said VPD Const. Tania Visintin.

If you have information about the incident, you’re asked to call VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
