VPD releases images of vehicle seen near death of woman in East Van

Police have released images and video of a vehicle that was in the same area where a woman died in East Vancouver over the weekend.

The VPD said Saturday a 37-year-old woman was found injured on the road in the area of Victoria Drive and Kingsway just after 5 a.m. earlier that day.

Despite first responders’ best efforts, the woman died at the scene, near the Esso gas station in the area.

No further details about what happened to her have been released.

However, police are hoping to speak with the people in the vehicle that was seen in the area.

“It’s still very, very early. Investigations like this, they take time and we really have to comb through all the evidence,” said Const. Tania Visintin.

“What we can say so far is we believe that the people in this vehicle know what happened to the woman. So we’re appealing to them — if this is your vehicle, if you were in that vehicle and have any information, we need you to call our investigators.

“On the flip side, if anybody recognizes that vehicle and believes they know who … the occupants were that day, give us a call as well. Speaking with them will really advance the investigation.”

The VPD is asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 604-717-2500.
