VPD looks for missing woman visiting the Lower Mainland

Vancouver police are asking the public for help in finding a missing 64-year-old woman who is not from the Lower Mainland.

The VPD says Cheryl Scovill is staying at Vancouver General Hospital with her family while her husband receives treatment at VGH.

She was last seen leaving to get food from the hospital cafeteria on Tuesday, Aug. 20, but never came back.

Police say Scovill “has multiple health issues that require medication,” including Type 1 diabetes and “other significant health concerns.”

“She is likely to be confused and disoriented,” the VPD said Wednesday. “She has now missed multiple medications which will significantly affect her cognitive awareness.”

Scovill is described as being 5’1″ tall with a slim build. She has short, brown hair, and was last seen wearing an olive green zip-up hoodie, dark grey pants, and white Skechers running shoes.

The VPD is asking anyone who sees her to call 911 right away and to stay with her until help arrives.
