Victoria police seek witnesses, victims after man allegedly shoots someone with pellet gun

The Victoria Police Department says it is asking the public for help getting more information around an incident involving a man allegedly shooting a pellet gun at another person last week.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Oct. 2, police received a report of a man discharging several shots with a pellet gun towards another person on Pandora Avenue near Vancouver Street.

Police searched the area, and then were able to identify the suspect using CCTV footage.

“The use of any type of firearm, whether real or replica, in a threatening manner is unacceptable,” said VicPD Const. Terri Healy.

“We urge anyone who witnessed this event or has information to come forward. Witness or victim information will aid our work in holding those responsible for these behaviours accountable.”

Police say the suspect has been arrested and remains in custody awaiting a court date.

No victims have been identified.

Police say they intend to recommend charges to Crown counsel.
