Vancouver to host pan-American soccer tournament

Vancouver is set to hold some matches in an international soccer tournament one year ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) announced Wednesday that BC Place will act as a host venue for the 2025 Gold Cup.

Gold Cup games have been played in Canada before, at BMO Field in Toronto in 2015 and 2023, but 2025 will mark Vancouver’s first time as host.

All other matches for the 2025 tournament are set for U.S. cities, including other first-timers San Jose, California and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The competition is scheduled to run from the first day of the group stage on June 14, until the tournament final on July 6.

CONCACAF says an official draw for dates and matches will take place on April 6.
