A fire has damaged two homes, displacing five people and one dog in Vancouver on Monday evening.
The fire started in the laundry room of one home and spread to a neighbouring one near East 47 Avenue and Commercial Street.
Assistant Fire Chief with the Vancouver Fire Rescue Services Sean Gilmore says when crews showed up, the first house had “extensive smoke coming out the main floor and basement windows.”
Gilmore tells CityNews that one woman was sent to the hospital with “smoke inhalation and some minor burns.”
