Arturs Silovs stopped 42 of 45 shots to help the Vancouver Canucks edge out a win over the Edmonton Oilers in their first road game of the series Sunday.
The Canucks took game three of the Stanley Cup Playoff series with a final score of 4-3.
Brock Boeser had two goals and an assist, while Elias Lindholm also scored twice for Vancouver. Quinn Hughes and J.T. Miller each contributed a pair of assists.
“We knew they were going to push and we held in there. We stuck to our structure. I think that’s important. I think we’ve talked about that a lot this year and a lot this season. It just shows we have faith and trust in our structure,” Boeser told Sportsnet’s Gene Principe post game.
The Oilers used their league-leading power play to secure goals from Mattias Ekholm and Leon Draisaitl, and a late tally from Evan Bouchard.
Oilers fans celebrated early in the second when it appeared Corey Perry scored. Silovs swept the puck off the goal line but Perry celebrated in front of the net. After review, officials determined there was no goal.
Stuart Skinner stopped 11 of 15 shots before he was replaced by Calvin Pickard to start the third period. Pickard had three saves in his NHL playoff debut.
The teams return to Rogers Place on Tuesday for Game 4.
